Follow my complete journey as I prepare and compete in one of my toughest challenges yet...the 2014 Perth to Rottnest Island Channel swim.

A swim in the lake

Got up early this morning for a lovely swim in the lake with Ann. We completed 1.9 km which was ample for this time of year...and my tired body! This time in a few weeks it will be very different as I will need to be up around the 4 to 5 km per session.

1000m Kicking Drill

Just finished a 1000m kicking drill, followed by 1500m pullbouy drill and then kick-treading water drill. My hammies are feeling rather loose!!

Merry Christmas

Stanwell Park Swim...cool...
Merry Christmas to all...

I got given enough money for three ocean/open water swim entries...i think along with all my other swims i believe i will enter the:

  • 2.3km Stanwell Park Ocean Swim (Wollongong)
  • 5km Sri Chimnoy Lake Swim (Canberra)
  • 10km Roughwater (Bondi)

Newcastle Ocean Pool

Newcastle Ocean Baths
A very pleasant 30 minute swim at the Newcastle Public Ocean Pool this morning. It was 19 degrees in and 21 out so it was perfect swimming conditions. Nothing better than the ocean!

The next chapter

Welcome to the next chapter in my love of endurance swimming. After just finishing a 6 month 330km swim for charity (Saint Vincent de Paul) I will once again let you follow my progress as I train for one of the toughest mid length swims on the planet; the 19km 2014 Perth to Rottness Island, Western Australia.
